Leatherman Charge TTi Steel Characteristics

Leatherman® Charge TTi are made from 100% stainless steel to provide years of dependable service. Each 400-series stainless implement is heat treated to optimal hardness for its function. For example, our knives and files are typically tempered to Rockwell C 57 to achieve excellent edge retention. Our plier jaws and most screwdrivers have a Rockwell C hardness of 49-53 for better durability.

Quality Standards - How is Leatherman® Charge TTi better quality than the competition? Look at the sharp corners on our screwdrivers, built to ANSI specifications for strength and dimensions (which we verify with a laser micrometer). We regularly torture test our plier jaws; they are finished and riveted so precisely you can cut paper with the wire cutters. Even non-functional cosmetic flaws no bigger than a speck of pepper are not acceptable in any of the numerous inspections each tool must pass.
